Kuala Lumpur, 16^th July 2013- Astro and TVB have collaborated again, launching a health programme “Wellness On The Go” ! TVB Celebrities including 陈展鹏、陈敏芝、陈智燊 and姚子羚 alongside with local host will be appearing on 20^th July 2013 at Jinjang Utama Pasar, Jalan Jinjang Utara.

This event was sponsored by Anlene (as main sponsor), Naturel Oil, Pensonic and BP Healthcare as partnering sponsors, Melody FM and MyFM will be the official FM for “Wellness On The Go”.

Apart from this, there will also be a health check up session on the spot, whereby audience will be given a free checkup and health talk. Professional health workers will be there to explain the health condition to the participants. Worth mentioning is, “Wellness On The Go” health cart will also be revealed on the same day and there will be giveaways too!

Besides, there will also be a health talk by professional doctors and there will be a Q&A session open to public regarding on health issues. There will also be an exercise session whereby the public can join along with the celebrities!

Astro and TVB have been working together for a few times, and the collaboration is good. This time, these two TV Station are collaborating again and releasing this new programme, “Wellness On The Go” which emphasizes on Malaysia common health problems such as hypertension, heart disease, diabetes mellitus, breast cancer, osteoporosis and etc. At the same time, TVB celebrities will become the hosts of the program. In the program, they will discuss regarding the causes, symptoms and prevention for those diseases.

“Wellness On The Go” has been filmed at a few different cities in Malaysia. Every episode will feature different TVB celebrities as the host as well as one Astro local artists who will be discussing those health problems with guests invited to the TV show.

“Wellness On The Go” will be on air starting from 2^nd September 2013 onwards, every Monday 10.30pm, in Astro Wah Lai Toi (CH 311) and Astro HD (CH 310) airing at the same time.

Kuala Lumpur, 8 July 2013–AstroStar Quest (ASQ) 2013, the biggest and most notable Chinese singing reality show in Malaysiais slated to hit a fever pitch as the top five finalistscompete for the highest honour inthe most-watched Grand Final at Stadium PISA, Penang, on 13 July 2013, at 8.30pm.

The finalists this year are well equipped with diverse musical talents.Esther Thian, 24, who hails from Kuching,hasincredibly explosive vocalswhereasthe Klang-born Amy Boon, 21, is recognized for her smoky and rustic voice. On the other hands, Gean Lai, the 22-year-old“dancing queen” from Kuala Lumpur,dazzled the audience with herimpressive dance moves.Equally impressive, though, are two PenangitesJustin Ng, 19, who is skilled in playing numerous musical instruments andRaxTeh, 25, who earned the nickname of “Dolphin Voiced Prince” for his high-pitched falsetto voice.

The three-hour competitioncomprises four rounds where the five hopefulswill sing a song of choice, a duet with one of the past years’ champions, a ballad, and a designated rock song to showcase their vocal prowess, before one is honoured with the covetedchampion title. To this end, their fates lie in the hands of a panel of judges comprising of prominent personalities in the Chinese music industry; they are Yuan Wei-Jen andKay Huang from Taiwan, Singaporean music producers cum composers Lee WeiShiong and Lee Shih Shiong, and the local-bred Alex San.

About the show:

Kuala Lumpur, 15 May 2013 – From the Academy Award-winning film comes an equally acclaimed stage production. The Actors Studio’s RASHOMON, presented by JTI Malaysia in collaboration with The Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre (klpac) and HANDS Percussion, will play for a limited run from 12 to 14 July 2013. The film catapulted Akira Kurosawa to international fame and won the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Award. The Actors Studio’s own adaptation was staged thrice and won Best Lighting Design, Best Original Music, Best Set Design and Best Costume Design at the BOH Cameronian Arts Awards 2003.

This July, three visionaries, each considered to be the best in their field, will come together to take this masterpiece to new dramatic heights. Director Joe Hasham OAM, Music Director Bernard Goh of HANDS Percussion and Production Designer Paul Loosley collectively weave a gripping story of lust, greed and honesty. Against the backdrop of modern-day Osaka where seedy side streets, sake bars, love hotels and shady characters are aplenty, the search for the truth is not so simple after all. Director Joe Hasham says “We took the classic route in the past but this time, we decided to modernise the setting. The raw and gritty feel of a bustling city like Osaka truly heightens the drama. We are fortunate to have top-notch actors like Doppo Narita, Patrick Teoh, Michael Chen and Anrie Too. Together with Loosley’s stunning design as well as Goh’s haunting music composed with Susan Sarah John that will be the pulse of the show, setting the scene and accentuating the climaxes, we are excited to unveil this new RASHOMON.”

So famous is this piece of work that a term called the “Rashomon effect” was named after it. In this adaptation, a heinous crime takes place leaving one dead and another traumatised. A yakuza steps forward to claim responsibility and a trial is set in motion. The witnesses are called to testify. The only problem is that each testimony contradicts the other. What really happened on the day of the crime? RASHOMON originated from two short stories written by Ryunosuke Akutagawa almost a century ago. The fact that it was the very work that introduced Kurosawa and Japanese films to the West, that it has survived all these years and that it continues to be studied today is a real mark of Japanese talent and ingenuity. The Actors Studio’s production pays homage to this renowned masterpiece. The opening night of RASHOMON in Kuala Lumpur on 12th of July is dedicated to MyKasih Foundation’s Project ‘Light-a-Home’ made possible by JTI Malaysia. For each fundraising ticket sold at RM100, one solar light bulb will be donated to the orang asli community.

Benny writes to let his grandma know what the future holds. But one day, the postcards from Benny stop arriving and Rosa decides to embark on the trip of her life.

Christopher Ling directs Marina Tan in this magical journey of laughter, hope, tears and discovery taken by a Peranakan grandmother as inspired by the memory of Singaporean playwright Desmond Sim's own grandmother. POSTCARDS FROM ROSA was first staged by Singapore's ACTION Theatre in November 2007 with Neo Swee Lin in the title role. The Malaysian premiere is supported by LUMA.
