A new world-class music event, the
Kuantan Music Festival is to be held in Kuantan this coming April 2014.
This is the first festival of this calibre held on the East Coast of Malaysia,
the event promises to be two magical evenings in an idyllic beachfront garden
set amongst palms and lawns facing the South China Sea.
Renowned Malaysian and international musicians
will be bringing a mix of acoustic, blues, jazz, fusion and world musicto the
stage at Holiday Villa Beach Resort
& Spa in Cherating on 4th &
5th April 2014.Drawing both national and international crowds
and performers, the Festival is set to become a major annual event in the
Malaysian event calendar.
The Festival Directors Atord Hamdan and Erica
Gilbert couldn’t have chosen a more beautiful location. “We couldn’t ask for a more perfect setting
for the Festival” said Hamdan, “Imagine sea breezes gently blowing through the
gardens, sitting under the stars and the performances begin. It’ll be two nights of magic not to be
forgotten.”
“It’s also very easy
to get to now” adds Gilbert. “It’s only a 25 minute drive from Kuantan town. And with the new highway, it’s just over 2½
hours from Kuala Lumpur too and there is plenty of accommodation. Cherating has got a wide variety of
accommodationas does Kuantan towncentre.”
An exciting line-up
of performers from Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and Germany have been well chosen
to entertain the crowd. The mood will be relaxed and enjoyable as a reflection
of the holiday location, the professional performances and the quality of the
event. Although outside food and drink is prohibited, great food options will
be available during the event.
With its open mixed
genre of music, Kuantan Music Festival will be memorably different and
anticipated every year. Plans are already in place to incorporate the Arts into
the 2015 Festival. “It’s fantastic that the Festival debut is during the Visit
Malaysia Year 2014. The event is part
of Pahang’s line-up of events for the year andwe’re really grateful that the
Ministry of Tourism and Culture, Tourism Malaysia and Tourism Pahang are all
giving us their support,” Gilbert says.
