16 Astro本地圈 singers will perform local production songs in marathon style!

Kuala Lumpur, September 2014- As a closing ceremony to Pangkor Island Festival“邦咯海岛节”, 《用马来西亚的天气来说爱你》beach concert will assemble Astro本地圈新秀singers as well as 福建帮&经典名曲 singers including prominent Hokkien singer, 福建歌坛大哥黄一飞, “百变美凤”陈薇芝, “摇滚魔王”庄盛 &“金嗓子歌后”钟丽珍. There will be a total of 16 artistes who will perform on stage and each performer will be suitable for different age categories of audiences from Pangkor Island itself as well as the tourists originating from other places! Let’s attend the show and have fun together!

In collaboration between邦咯艺术山丘 & Astro, “2014邦咯海岛节” Pangkor Island Festival 2014 will be kicking off from 13th September 2014  onwards for 8 days involving many interesting activities.

Kuala Lumpur, September 2014 – All ladies, do you have a dream in becoming the next Miss Astro Chinese? It’s time to take the first step to show your beauty and wisdom to the whole Malaysia.

Miss Astro Chinese International Pageant 2014 is one of the most anticipated Chinese beauty pageant in Malaysia. From 1 September 2014 – 14 September 2014, there will be an online recruitment for the first time ever, inviting all the pretty Chinese ladies in Malaysia ranging from 18 years old to 25 years old to take part. This is a golden opportunity for you to shine at international level pageant!

Organized by Astro 本地圈, Adonis as the main sponsor of《Astro国际华裔小姐竞选2014》 once again cooperated to seek Malaysian Chinese who possesses both inner and outer beauty. They will be giving away luxurious prizes to the winners of the beauty pageant. The champion of the pageant can win away prizes worth RM 200,000, including a luxurious car and a contract as the artiste under Astro. Visit Malaysia Year 2014 Raises the Curtain on “Mimpi Artilla – Kisah Cinta Seni”!

Kuala Lumpur, September 2014 – Due to the popular demand, the musical theatre piece, Mimpi Artilla, the bespoke production that was first unveiled as the royal performance during The Royal Arts Gala in January 2014 at the Muzium Diraja (former Istana Negara) is coming back this September 2014.

Written and directed by the acclaimed Adlin Aman Ramlie, renowned for his works in Puteri Gunung Ledang the movie, Akademi Fantasia, Maharaja Lawak Mega, Puteri Gunung Ledang the Musical and P.Ramlee the Musical amongst others, Mimpi Artilla was produced by My Performing Arts Agency (MyPAA) for the purpose of The Royal Arts Gala, in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism and Culture (MoTaC), and the National Department for Culture and Arts

(JKKN).

The second installation of Mimpi Artilla is scheduled for 8:30 pm and 3:00 pm, 13 and 14 September 2014 respectively at the Experimental Theatre (Panggung Eksperimen), Universiti Malaya, Kuala Lumpur.

The revival of SUPER KAM 2: THE SECOND KAM-MING will reunite Asia’s funniest femme fatales and of course, leading the pack is none other than Malaysia’s leading female comedian, RedFM presenter Joanne Kam Poh Poh.

Lining up the rest of the funny army are Joanne Kam’s comedic comrades, Sharul Channa from Singapore and stand-up comic Shamaine Othman, with special appearances by comedienne Bibi K Poh in Petaling Jaya, and TV Host extraordinaire Daphne Iking in Penang. This fabulous revival will be hosted by none other than the biggest comedian in Malaysia, Papi Zak.

“I’m very thrilled and delighted for this restaging of SUPER KAM 2! We had an overwhelming response for our last show, the audiences enjoyed themselves and everybody wanted more. We are now reviving the show in two fantastic locations – PJ and Penang! I can’t wait to be on stage again performing for my fans,” said Joanne Kam.

Expect to witness the superpowers of gut-busting comedic antics, unapologetic dry humour and hilarious stand-up as the funny army regroup once again on stage.

Tickets are priced at RM68 and RM58. Audiences will be treated to a screening of the PILOT episode of the much anticipated SUPER KAM web series directed by Gavin Yap.
