Coverage: FC Barcelona Press Conference at One World
Hotel
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, 9th August
2013 – The world most acclaimed football club, FC Barcelona has arrived at Malaysia yesterday
after their match with Thailand a few days ago. They have held a press
conference at the Topaz Ballroom, One World Hotel.
The press conference started
a little bit later than the original itinery. At around 6.45pm, the guests
including Lionel Messi, Cesc Fabregas and other notable figures in Malaysia
football scene have finally came into the ballroom and the press conference began
right after they were seated.
The ballroom was filled with
around 100 media members in total from both International Media and Local
Malaysia Media as well. Some of the questions directed by the international
media were done in foreign language. But gladly, there was a translator to convert the response answers into English.
Most of the questions were targeted
at Cesc Fabregas and Lionel Messi. Cesc Fabregas was asked regarding his
decision on whether to leave FC Barcelona and go for Manchester United. His
answer was a “NO”.
“Nothing has changed. I feel
happy playing in Barcelona team. My dream is to play and win here and I
have never thought of leaving the club.” Fabregas’s response during the press
conference yesterday.
He was also asked whether
the presence of the new team member Neymar would affect his role in Barcelona
team.
“I know what Martino wants
from me. It is very clear and I will have to work very hard.” said Fabregas in
response to the question.
Lionel Messi on
the other hand has given his opinion on the newly appointed head coach,
Gerrardo Martino. He said that the new head coach has been putting a lot of
effort since he has come over to the team.
“The new coach wants us to create more pressure
and work on recovering the ball as soon as possible. We have been preparing for
the new season more seriously and we think we would be in a good shape for the
upcoming competitive match.” responded by Messi.
One media member has directed his question to Malaysia Datuk K.Rajagopal regarding his opinion on the friendly match. He
replied, “ I have a game plan for this friendly match, and we will be playing better
than how we performed during Chelsea match.” Regardless of win or loss, he
stated that this friendly match would be a good exposure for the Malaysian Tigers.
